December is our biggest month, and for good reason. The work do, the staff function, the family Christmas at home, the sports club wind-up, a good DJ is the difference between everyone standing around with a drink and a packed dancefloor by nine. We've done the lot, and we know how to read each crowd.

Office and work Christmas parties are a big part of what we do. If yours needs awards, AV or a stage setup, our corporate DJ hire has the full rundown. For the family-and-friends Christmas, it's a more laid-back night, but the same idea: festive songs when you want them, then the crowd-pleasers that get every generation up at the same time.

How much does a Christmas party DJ cost in NZ?

Christmas DJ packages in NZ typically run from around $950+GST for a 4-hour function up to $5,000+ for a premium corporate Christmas with full AV, LED walls and multi-stage lighting. Where you land depends on a few things:

  • Hours of cover and event format. A 3-hour staff dinner is different to a 6-hour company party.
  • Guest count and venue size. 40 guests and 400 guests need different rigs.
  • Production level. Standard, premium festive lighting with snow machines, or full corporate with LED walls.
  • Travel. We're Hamilton-based, so anything within the Hamilton radius is included. Further afield we quote transparent travel up front.
  • When you book. Earlier means more options and often better rates. Saturdays in December are gone by mid-September.

Our packages start from $1,249 + GST for smaller Christmas functions and scale to full corporate celebrations.

Bloody awesome DJ company! We had the pleasure of having Chris as our DJ and he's absolutely amazing! We had made our song/playlist requests through a webpage that was easy to use and even though the rain meant some last minute change in locations, Chris wasn't phased and seamlessly carried on. The guests made so many comments about the DJ about how he read the room so well, kept vibes high and chose great songs (hubby and I agree!). We also got the photo booth which was a TOTAL hit! Being able to have print outs to put on the fridge and then being sent a link where we could download the digital copies was so handy! Would absolutely recommend the team at MyEventDJ! Incredible! We used Chris at our wedding a month ago - we had him for the whole shebang. From ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and through to the dance floor Chris was incredible. He was inconspicuous, but the music and timing was perfect. He fitted seamlessly into our day. The app and communication beforehand made things super easy and uncomplicated. AND THEN he threw down absolute banger after banger on the dance floor later on. We cannot thank you enough for helping to make our wedding such an absolute hit.

We used my Event DJ, for our wedding in January and they were absolutely amazing. Their systems for song selection was simply to use, their communication was also out standing. We also used the package which included the photo both and this went down even better than we hoped, the photos and set up was amazing and all our guest thought it was one of the best photo booths they have used. Honestly we could not recommend these guys enough!. Thanks heaps for making our event! Marie & John

We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for our wedding! Chris was on time, professional, and everything ran perfectly from start to finish. He was incredibly patient throughout the whole process and a huge help during the planning stages. He also set up the photobooth, which our guests absolutely loved it was such a hit all night! The whole service was amazing value for money. We’re so grateful for everything he did to make our day so special. Highly recommend!

How much does a Christmas party DJ cost in NZ?

Christmas party DJ packages in NZ typically range from around $950+GST for a 4-hour function up to $5,000+ for a premium corporate Christmas. Our packages start from $1,249 + GST.

When should we book our Christmas party DJ?

Earlier is always better. Saturdays in December book out by August or September. If you’ve got a date in mind, send it through and we’ll check availability, even on short notice.

Can you do a 'Christmas in July' / mid-winter Christmas event?

Yes. Mid-winter Christmas events are a growing trend, especially for offices wanting to spread the festive load or sports clubs running themed nights. Same energy, same playlist, just different season.

Are you GST-registered?

Yes, we are GST-registered. All pricing on the site is quoted plus GST.

Do you have public liability insurance?

Yes. We hold full public liability insurance.

Do you bring a wireless mic for speeches?

Yes, wireless mic included as standard. For multi-speaker events (CEO + chair + retiree speeches) we can bring additional mics on request.

Can you DJ in our brand colours or corporate theme?

Yes, our uplighting is fully colour-customisable. Send us your brand hex codes and we'll match the room to your event design.

Do you do snow machines?

Yes, indoor-safe snow machines available as an add-on. Looks great for entrances, first dances, the moment Santa walks in. Tell us your venue and we'll confirm it works with their guidelines.

Can you DJ a family or backyard Christmas party?

Yes, we regularly DJ family Christmases, friend-group dos and neighbourhood parties. Battery-powered sound options for backyard or outdoor venues, festoon lighting for atmosphere, and we scale the rig down to suit smaller gatherings.

Do you DJ multi-site Christmas events?

Yes, large companies often run multiple Christmas parties across the same week (Hamilton office Thursday, Auckland office Friday, regional offices Saturday). We have the team and gear to handle multi-site rollouts. Our Corporate DJ Hire page has the deeper detail.

What if our venue's small, or we're at the bach?

We scale the rig to the room. Our smaller setups work in a lounge if needed. For very small private Christmases we'll be honest if you'd be better off with a Bluetooth speaker and a Spotify playlist, but if you want a proper DJ for a small intimate Christmas do, we do that too.

Can you bring a photo booth or 360 booth?

Yes, combine your Christmas DJ booking with our photo booth, 360 video booth or audio guestbook.

Do you have a 'no song' list?

We're happy to take 'do not play' lists from any host. If your CEO genuinely hates Last Christmas, we'll cut it. If your retiring colleague has a track they want as a farewell moment, we'll cue it. Tell us before the night.

How do we book?

Send us your date and venue through the enquiry form, or give us a call. We'll confirm availability, send you a proposal usually within 24 hours, and lock in your date with a 20% deposit.
